About us
Who are we? - We are Lou, Julie, Jay & Leigh Sloot, we live in
Mandurah WA & we ski at Bonney's WA Waterski
park.
Lou is the
past president of the WA Barefoot waterski club for 4 years
2002-2006 he is also a level 2 sports specific water ski coach, as well as
WA Barefoot club State boat driver. He Started skiing 40 years ago in Victoria
and competed in ski races in junior boys through all
classes up to open mens and won Victorian state titles in Junior boys
and 5lt classes with a 2nd in southern 80 in early 80s. Lou has also driven
ski race boats built ski race boats and been a social skier for
years.
Julie
is a nationally accredited barefoot judge and travels all over
Australia to judge barefoot events. Julie started skiing mid to late
80s.
Jay is
a barefooter through and through and represented Australia in New Zealand a
couple of years ago coming home with a gold medal in the slalom event. Jay has
won the WA state titles in Sub Junior Boys, Junior Boys and Men's 2 and is
currently skiing open mens. Jay also loves to kneeboard and
slalom ski through the course at every
opportunity.
Leigh is another barefooter
and won a silver medal in the jump event at the junior worlds in
winterhaven Florida in 2003. Leigh has held WA state titles in sub junior boys,
junior boys and open mens. He has also represented
Australia in Junior boys and in the 2004 in the open
worlds barefoot titles in Mulwalla. He currently holds the WA open mens
jump record @ 24.4 metres. Leigh also loves to attack the
slalom course and ride the sky ski. Other highlights include skiing with WA show ski team riding the sky ski at local
events.
